Facilities

The Metropolitan headquarters in San José are located one mile away from the capital city in the quiet district of El Carmen in Aranjuez neighborhood.

Its privileged location provides all the necessary services for the comfort and safety of the students. The services available are public transportation, restaurants, bookstores, photocopying places, banks, shopping malls, churches, parks, gyms, and Rafael Angel Calderon Guardia hospital, one of the main medical centers of the country.

There are more than ninety classrooms including computer equipment to use multimedia in the regular lessons. Around the facilities, there is a powerful wireless internet service (WiFi) that allows students, teachers, and researchers to have access to the Internet from their laptops.

The departments of Registration, Administration, Dean’s Office, and  Coordinators are located on the main floor where the students can get enrolled and ask for professional counselling.

Classrooms are located between the third and fifth floor where students attend their classes. Computer laboratories, multimedia laboratories, Internet-service rooms, and high technology laboratories are located on the second floor.

Taking into account the amount of hours that students spend in the classrooms and labs, the facilities includes areas for entertainment fully protected where students can meet to rest and study.

Due to its location from the capital city, the access to the facilities is simple. Public transportation service from the capital city allows an easy access to get to the University very easily at any time of the day. There is bus service at the end of the lessons to the main cities of the Central Valley.

Behind the main building, there is a small building known as “Edificio de Multiusos” where the library, study rooms, Electromechanical and Electronic Engineering labs, the Executive Room, and the Dean’s Office are located.

For the students who own a car, there is four spacious and safe parking lot areas. Three of them are placed outdoors, and there is one which is indoor. For students’ safety, these parking lots are located near the main building and are constantly monitored by security officers.

Inside the campus, there are some buildings for the Chemistry labs, Legal Clinics, School of Architecture, and Señorial Hall, a special room for conferences and seminars.

Furthermore, the Institute of Graduate Studies (IEP) is located in Escalante neighborhood a few blocks away from the main building.

The headquaters of Heredia are located in San Francisco, Heredia which is an area of two thousand square meters including sports areas, parking lot, and the facilities for academic activities.

Pretty soon, the University will open a new building in El Molino neighborhood in Cartago, near the sports complex of the city.

Every campus has 24-hour security, transportation service, and wireless Internet service (WiFi).
